From 2013, all India engineering entrance examinations famous AIEEE and IIT-JEE has been combined into latest examination called JEE (Joint Entrance Examination).AIEEE turned into JEE Main and IIT-JEE into JEE Advanced. The new test will be suitable for admission to institutes supported by central government like IITs, NITs.
This examination will have two types of exams –
- JEE Main 2014
- JEE Advanced 2014
Only the best 150000 candidates in JEE MAIN 2014 exam will be appear in the JEE Advanced Exam. Admissions to IIT’s will be made only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Advanced, spotlight to situation that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile groups. Paper I for B.E/B.TECH
Subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Questions Type – Objective type questions (MCQ)
Total time 180 minutes
Paper II for B.ARCH/B. PLANNING
Subjects: Part I– Mathematics,
Part II –Aptitude Test
Part III – Drawing Test
Questions Type: Objective type questions (MCQ) questions to check Drawing ability.
Total time 180 minutes
There were 4 options having one right answer. For each wrong answer, 1/4 of the total marks chosen to the question would be subtracted.

JEE Main 2014 Mode of Exam: Here is two type of exam—
- Online (computer based)
- Offline (pen and paper based)
Online exam is held after the offline exam and is finished on a single day across all the examination centers. Students of online mode get extra time for preparation compared to offline mode of examination as the online examination is conducted on various dates after offline examination is over.
